Christmas Village is Closed on Thanksgiving so that our volunteers may spend time with their family and friends. We will be open for a Drive-Around ONLY.

FAQs

Overly's Country Christmas® Policies

  • Alcoholic beverages and firearms are not permitted on the grounds.
  • Selfie Sticks and Hoverboards are not permitted in Christmas Village.
  • For the safety of our guests and our horse-drawn sleigh/wagon rides, Pokemon Go is prohibited in Christmas Village.

 Notices

  • Strobes are in use throughout Christmas Village and the lights.
  • Children, ages 3 and under, riding the Kids' Express train ride, must be accompanied by a responsible adult/guardian.  
  • Children, ages 12 and under, riding the horse drawn wagon and sleighs, must be accompanied by a responsible adult/guardian.
  • No personal camera/video equipment or camera phones are permitted in Santa's Workshop.
  • The Overly's play area is designed for children, ages 2-10.  Adult supervision is required at all times.  Follow the Rules posted. Play with Care and Consideration of Others.
  • All lines may close early to ensure that everyone waiting can be accommodated.

Method of Payment

 All areas are CASH.  The gift shop, C. Edgar & Sons General Store, accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover.  Personal or organizational checks are not accepted.

ATM Banking Machine is located inside the gift shop, C. Edgar & Sons General Store.

Pets/Service Animals

The Westmoreland Fairgrounds policy is No Pets Except Service Dogs.  However, at Overly's Country Christmas®, we recognize that our pets are members of our family and as such, ask that pets be leashed, behaved, you clean up after them and use discretion around other visitors who may not be pet friendly.  And, please be sure to take extra special care with your pet around the horse drawn wagon and sleigh rides.

Family pets and service animals are not permitted to ride the horse-drawn wagon or sleigh rides. 

Please understand that family pets and service animals may be required to be removed from the property if it poses a threat to persons or property including unruliness, threating and/or aggressive behavior such as barking, snarling, biting at visitors/volunteers, manger animals, horses and/or if you are unable to control your animal at all times. 

Wheelchair Accessibility

Christmas Village is wheelchair accessible except for the Sweete Shop.  All areas throughout Christmas Village are paved.  The areas at the manger and the bonfire are mulched and generally can be maneuvered easily but also have paved pathways/cart paths in close proximity.

Handicap Parking

Handicap parking is available in the paved parking lot and limited pakring in the grassy auxiliary parking lot and in field parking.  Those displaying handicap parking placards must wait in all traffic queues to access parking areas.  

Recommended Dress

Overly's Country Christmas® is an outdoor family event with some retail and display areas in minimally heated buildings.  The temperatures at night on the fairgrounds can be a little bitey.  We recommend dressing for the weather . . . dress warmly, in layers with proper, cold-weather footwear.  Overly's Country Christmas® is a family event and as such, does not permit any overtly offensive behavior, language or clothing.

Share the Magic With Those In Need

Overly's Country Christmas® is a permanent donation site during the holiday season to help our neighbors and pets in need.  Share the Magic and help those who need it most with new, unwrapped toys, nonperishable food items, dry cat/dog food or kitty litter.  Donation containers are located in Hartman Station.

Volunteers

Overly's Country Christmas, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization operated mainly by volunteers.  Each year 600+ volunteers willingly and tirelessly give of their time with 25 - 45 volunteers nightly manning the various areas of Christmas Village.  Be a part of continuing the tradition by visiting our volunteer webpage, emailing to info@overlys.com or by giving us a call at 724-423-1400.

  • Patriotic Christmas, Sunday, November 19 - Free Family Car Admission for all military service men and women who are serving or who have served our country.  Appropriate identification required.
Parking and Waiting Times
 

Overly's Country Christmas® has limited paved parking with the lot turning over every 1 to 1.5 hours, longer with milder weather.  Weekends, specifically Saturday evenings in December, waiting times to enter the paved parking area is estimated at 1 to 2 hours, longer with milder weather.

Fairgrounds Roadways and High Volume Traffic

Weekends in December, specifically Saturday evenings, tend to be extremely busy with waiting times to enter the paved parking area and Christmas Village is estimated at 1 - 2 hours, longer with milder weather. During these high volume times, traffic is routed through the fairgrounds roadways.  These roadways are dirt roads and as such, family vehicles may get muddy.

 Field Parking and Park At Your Own Risk

During high volume times, a Park at Your Own Risk option MAY BE available to park in the fairgrounds fields, weather permitting, and enter Christmas Village with a per person charge. The Park at Your Own Risk field parking areas are accessible through lanes 3 and 5 of the serpentine traffic lane or by entering the fairgrounds through the first entrance to the fairgrounds property off the Greensburg-Mt. Pleasant Road.

Field Parking and Park At Your Own Risk is available ONLY on high volume traffic nights, typically Saturday evenings.

Field parking WILL NOT be available on normal traffic nights and MAY NOT be available if circumstances on the fairgrounds property, such as snow or wet, muddy conditions make the parking area inaccessible or may result in property damage.
